On June 16, 2022, SASO issued a circular that required all shipment certification requests for limited products (Napkin Rolls, Manhole Covers, Polyester Fiber, and Shade Windows) to include an Importer Product Declaration form. Importers will have to complete the attached form and obtain approval from the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. Once approved, Conformity Assessment Bodies are instructed to collect this document and shall not issue the Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SC) for these products until it is received.

On May 31, 2022, SABER announced that uploading photos for non-regulated products registration in SABER will be mandatory starting form July 21, 2022.
On June 8, 2022, SASO issued a circular to Conformity Assessment Bodies (CBs) announcing the date that uploading technical file documentation will be mandatory in SABER. As of June 23, 2022, all CBs will be required to upload the documents listed below before the PCoC granting decision.

On June 7, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for IKEA's Metallisk Espresso Maker due to a defect in the safety valve that could explode during use. Consumers are instructed to stop using the product immediately and return it to the store for a full refund.
On June 16, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for Candy Dryer, Model #CSH8A2LEXZ-19 due to non-compliance with the Saudi Standard for Energy Efficiency. Consumers are encouraged to contact the company to arrange an appointment for a technician to remove the dryer and provide a full refund.
