On April 8, 2022, SASO published an amendment to the fees for Energy Efficiency Labels for Vehicles, Tires and Lighting products. The EER registration cost for lighting products has been amended to 2000 SAR for each model The Study Fees (500 SAR) for issuing EER Label for Vehicles and Tires has been waived.
On April 6, 2022, SASO presented a webinar to introduce the draft Technical Regulation for Ornaments and Accessories.
On April 6, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for a Toy Camera Model 2109 sold on Noon online store. The camera button may detach posing a choking hazard for children. Consumers are instructed to contact the company to arrange for repairs free of charge.
On April 7, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for the Airbus A380 Toy Airplane sold on Noon online store. The product has a defect in the battery which could short-circuit and overheat which could cause injury. Consumers are instructed to contact the company to return the product for a full refund.
On April 11, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for Step 2 Little Helper's Shopping Cart. The Shopping Cart may break into sharp pieces which poses an injury risk. Affected products have date codes (05) (19). Consumers are instructed to stop using the product, ensuring to keep it out of reach of children, and contact Samaco to return the product for a full refund.
On April 19, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for the Fido X Electric Bike. This product has a defect that could lead to a broken bicycle joint when used potentially causing injury to the user. Consumers are instructed to contact the company and arrange for free repairs.
On April 20, 2022, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for ABB Earth Leakage Protection Circuit Breaker Model DSE201M due to a defect that may result in a failure to protect against a ground leakage current and increasing the risk of shock. Recalled items include manufacturing codes beginning with the letter "O" which can be found on the front of the product. Consumers are instructed to stop using the product immediately and contact the company for free repairs.
