What We Help You Achieve with Container Loading Checks

  • Zero transit surprises. Catch mis-loads, damage or theft before departure.

  • Accurate shipments. Verify quantities, barcodes & labels every time.

  • Regulatory compliance. Ensure packaging & loading meet your specs and import rules.

  • Data-driven decisions. Access photos and 48-hour reports in our online portal.

What is a Container Loading Check (CLC)?

A CLC is an on-site inspection that ensures your products are shipped exactly as ordered, in the right quantities and condition.

During a container loading check, a QIMA inspector will randomly select boxes to confirm product quality matches your specifications. We will verify correct quantities, barcodes, labeling, and packing materials, and closely supervise the entire loading process.

You’re provided with a full report, accessible through our online platform.

Why Perform a Container Loading Check?

  • Reduce the risk of product damage during shipment

  • Perform a final quality and specifications check to catch defects before shipping

  • Ensure correct handling of your products during container or truck loading

  • Verify that  packaging meets specifications

  • Inspect the quality of the container used for shipment

A CLC is particularly beneficial for businesses shipping fragile or sensitive goods that are likely to break in transit if the correct packaging and loading procedures are not followed.

What Checks are Carried Out?

The QIMA inspector will first randomly select a sample of products for inspection, following the ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008 sampling standard.

After the sample has been selected, the inspections are tailored to fit client needs and specific products.

We provide a variety of pre-designed inspection checklists suitable for different products, which you can use "as-is." You also have the option to modify these checklists by adding particular checks, or you can develop a completely new checklist that caters to your specific requirements.

How the CLC Process Works

QIMA conducts a comprehensive container loading check that involves a series of meticulous checks, typically including the following:

Product specifications checks:

  • Product colors

  • Product style and construction

  • Artwork, including spelling, fonts, dimensions, positioning, and general design

  • Labels including main labels, care labels, size labels and product tags

  • Finished and packed product quantities

  • Product dimensions checks

  • Other product-specific checks and tests to verify quality and workmanship

Product packing and packaging checks:

  • Unit packing

  • Inner packing

  • Outer packing

  • Export carton dimensions and weights

  • Shipping marks on cartons

Container loading and packing checks:

  • Loaded quantities

  • Pallet and carton details

  • Container condition

  • Loading process

It should be noted that, while a CLC can help verify final product quality, it should not be relied upon as a substitute for a more thorough pre-shipment inspection (PSI).

What Happens After a CLC is Completed?

Once a container loading check is completed, you’ll receive a detailed inspection report the same day, accessible through your online QIMA account. The report outlines the inspection findings, includes photos of any defects, and provides an overall pass/fail assessment.
